This e-module is offered in order that training institutions might consider this very particular source of staffing of the taught ITT programme for trainee teachers of Languages. The e-module consists of 3 parts, offering a model of the strategy, a brief theoretical rationale, and some suggestions for pursuing the idea.

The seminar consists of 3 parts:

Part 1: Case study
Jonathan Calow returns to the University of Sheffield to lead a session on monitoring and recording pupil progress in their language learning.


Part 2: Links to educational theory
The strategy of staffing of the taught ITT programme for trainee teachers of Languages with returning trainees addresses aspects of teaching effectiveness, adult development, learner needs, effective tutoring, and modelling practice for learning teachers.


Part 3: Next steps

Some suggestions, for which topics or themes within your taught programme might benefit from the input of ex-trainees, are given.
